Everything you need to know about Givica — whether you are looking for community resources, listing your organization, or exploring how the platform works.
Givica is a community resource directory that helps people find local services and support. Organizations create and manage their own listings — keeping hours, contact information, and program details accurate and current. Givica does not provide services directly. It connects people to the organizations that do.
No. Givica is a neutral platform where organizations share information about their own services. All services are provided by the individual organizations listed in the directory. Givica does not coordinate, manage, or guarantee any services.
Organizations maintain and update their own listings directly — no middleman required. Each listing displays a "Last Updated" timestamp so you can see how recently the information was reviewed. We encourage all organizations to update their listings regularly.
It's always a good idea to contact an organization directly as needed to confirm details before visiting.
No. Givica is not an emergency service. If you need immediate help, please contact local emergency services or a crisis support line.
Givica is designed for general resource discovery, not real-time emergency coordination.
Givica provides a structured directory of community resources. However, it does not verify all information in real time or manage interactions between users and organizations. Use your judgment and contact organizations directly for more details before visiting.
Yes. You are welcome to share any listing with others who may need support. Helping your community find resources is exactly what Givica is for.

You can update your listing at any time by logging into your Givica account. Changes are reflected immediately on your public listing. There is no approval process — you are in full control of your information.
Givica is designed for clear, general information rather than time-sensitive coordination. Listings should reflect what is typically available rather than moment-to-moment changes.
For example: "Coats available" rather than "Come now — we have coats available."
This keeps information consistent and reliable for everyone who uses the directory.
No. Events will automatically be removed at their designated end time. However, you can end an event at any time before that by deleting it manually from your listing.
Yes — when an event's status is set to In Progress, a Post Live Update button becomes available directly on the event card in your Events dashboard.
Live updates are optional. If you choose to post one, it will appear publicly on your event listing with a timestamp, so your community has current information. Updates should be calm and helpful — not urgent. Each new update replaces the previous public update, though your full update history remains visible to you in your dashboard.
Examples of good live updates: "We are open and ready — come on in." or "Plenty of space still available this afternoon."
Deleting an event permanently removes it from your dashboard and the public directory. Community members will no longer be able to see it. This action cannot be undone from your account.
If an event is no longer taking place and you want the community to know — use the Cancelled status instead of deleting. This keeps the event briefly visible in the directory so anyone who planned to attend is informed.
Yes — marking an event Completed removes it from the public directory immediately. Community members will no longer see it when searching.
The event remains visible in your Events dashboard under Past Events for your own records and is never permanently deleted unless you choose to delete it.
A Cancelled event remains briefly visible in the public directory for 48–72 hours after being cancelled. This gives community members who planned to attend a chance to see that the event is no longer happening before it disappears.
After that window the event moves to your Past Events section in your dashboard, where it remains for your records.
If you need to communicate why an event was cancelled, use the Notes field or post a Live Update before marking it Cancelled.
Yes. Givica reserves the right to limit visibility or remove listings that do not align with our Community Standards or Terms & Conditions.
Organizations will be notified by email if any action is taken on their listing. If you believe a decision was made in error, please contact us at hello@givica.org.
